Common Determination Methods
Observe Abnormal Phenomena
Exterior Damage: Cracked, deformed, yellowed, or charred casing; broken power cord; melted plug, etc.
Indicator Light Abnormalities: Indicator lights not illuminated, flashing frequently, flickering, or automatically switching on and off.
Abnormal Operating Conditions: Refrigerator frequently starts and stops; air conditioner drips water; washing machine shakes violently during spin-drying; water heater leaks, etc.
Listen to Operating Sounds
Normal appliances operate smoothly without abnormal noises. Be alert to the following sounds:
High-pitched screeching or grinding sounds from motor-driven appliances (refrigerator, washing machine) may indicate worn bearings;
A buzzing or crackling discharge sound from electrical appliances (charger, induction cooker) indicates damaged wiring insulation;
A loud rumbling sound from piped appliances (water heater, air conditioner) may indicate blockage or loose installation.
Touch Sensing Temperature and Vibration
A hot or locally hot casing indicates poor heat dissipation or component overload; Plugs and sockets becoming noticeably hot after operation suggest poor contact or circuit overload; Strong shaking or displacement resonance of the device may indicate loose internal wiring.
